The Cube

The Cube is one of the four original supervillain prisons. Located in the Nevada desert, it is designed to hold supervillains that were created via radiation from any source. Most of these villains originated from the gamma formula that turned Bruce Banner into the incredible Hulk.

History[]

Every cell is designed to hold a specific villain and prevent them from using their powers, depending on what their powers are or what they need to stay alive. In the center of The Cube is a gamma generator that sends gamma energy throughout the complex, though such an energy source is unstable. There is also a laboratory, where blood samples of every prisoner is kept as well as a control room where all the prisoners are monitored.

Bruce Banner notes that the Cube wasn't just a prison, but a lab created to discover a way to mass produce the inmates and turn them into weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D. and the US military to Dr. Samson, who insisted that he'll find the cure for the Hulk.

When the Breakout occurs, the Leader decides to stay behind and instructs a few other villains to stay within The Cube to assist him. When Dr. Samson is caught in a gamma explosion during the massive breakout, Hulk rescues him and escapes the prison, leaving a whole section of the facility in ruins in the process.

The Cube soon became Leader's base of operations when he constructed the Gamma Emitter, then uses the facility as a testing ground for the Gamma Dome during an attempted S.H.I.E.L.D./Hulkbuster incursion.

At the moment, The Cube is still in ruins and has been abandoned ever due to risk of being exposed to radiation still exist inside the abandoned prison.
